Winter League 2017/18

The Stockton Petanque Club 2017/18 Winter League started on 7th October 2017 and finished on 31st March 2018 based upon the results of the Saturday Club. 

The 2017/18 league was won by Richard Rushton with 87 points after a strong start to the year, winning 20 out of the first 21 games, but a late surge from Sarah Jerger and Bill Bentley made it a tight finish, with Sarah finishing just 2 points behind with 85 points and Bill third with 77 points.

Points were awarded for the opening singles match and the follow-up pairs/triples match, on the basis of 3 for a win and 1 for a loss, except for the first Saturday of each month when we played a three round Open Melee - with just the first round result counting towards the Winter League. 

When byes were necessary, 2 points were awarded.
